Nigeria Court Jailed An Iranian Man 17 years In Prision

The federal High Court in Lagos on Monday which was the 13th May sentenced an Iranian man, Azim Aghajani and his Nigerian accomplice, Ali Abbas Jega, to 17 years imprisonment each for shipping illegal firearms into the country. Actually the tw were arrested in 2010 after lagos port authorities discovered 13 containers of weapons which they had declared as a construction materials.
The chief justice Okechukwu Okeke who handled the case found the two accused persons guilty of four counts charged preffered against them by the Attorney- General of the Federation. 
 The two men, who have been in court since 2011, were sentenced to five years for each of the three counts and to 2-years for the fourth count, which automatically means that the sentences would run concurrently from Februrary 1, 2011, when they were arraigned.
