Etisalat Nigeria, the most innovative telecommunications company in Nigeria, today announced its partnership with biNu to bring the popular mobile application to its 15-million feature phone and Android users. The biNu app includes an extensive range of local and international content, messaging and social features and is 10 times faster than a regular browser, while remaining extremely data efficient so data plans stretch even further. Etisalat users can download the Etisalat branded version of the biNu application from http://m.binu.com/etisalat .
biNu is one of the fastest growing mobile apps in Africa thanks to its speed, low-data usage and extensive breadth of services, such as Facebook, books, news, and weather. It also includes the ability to share photos and messages with other biNu users as well as non-biNu users in Nigeria and around the world.
Jeremy George, the biNu VP for Africa said, “biNu’s partnership with Etisalat gives subscribers an affordable way to turbocharge the internet on their mobile phones.”
By providing access to biNu at this special subscription rate, Etisalat is also helping thousands of Nigerians who read free books provided by biNu’s book partner, Worldreader and the very affordable mobile books being sold on biNu by Harlequin, publisher of the well known Mills and Boon romance novels.
Wael Ammar, Chief Commercial Officer for Etisalat Nigeria said: “Etisalat believes that everyone should have access to the huge amount of information and services that are available on the internet. By partnering with biNu we are making this available to more people, at a lower price on a greater range of handsets and at higher speeds.”
Etisalat, the fastest growing mobile network in Nigeria with over 15 million subscribers, is encouraging content owners and developers to get involved in producing Nigerian content on biNu.
George added: “biNu makes it very simple to develop and add applications, so local content owners and developers can easily mould biNu to expand the local content make it even more useful to Nigerian members.”
Etisalat’s special biNu subscription will be available at the end of May, and will be available to all Etisalat prepaid subscribers.
